Earthcare’s Bethel, Pennsylvania facility consists of two gasifier trains which have the capacity of processing 87,600 wet tons of biosolids per year in addition to spent hens from egg laying operations, and manure from egg layers provided by local resources. The patented gasification technology developed by Michael McGolden and his more than 20 years of dedicated experience provides a clean, circular solution to prevailing organics management issues, including the capture of emerging contaminants such as PFAS. This facility is the only one of its kind currently in the United States. The goals of this facility are to reduce the dumping of biosolids into local landfills and to reduce the land application of poultry manure to avoid the runoff of harmful nutrients into the Chesapeake Bay.
