Nelson Widell brings over four decades of leadership experience in organics processing and waste conversion project development to Earthcare Solutions. His career spans the design, permitting, and operation of major composting and anaerobic digestion facilities throughout the United States and internationally. Nelson co-founded Bedminster Bioconversion Corporation, where he helped commercialize large-scale rotary drum composting technology licensed in more than ten countries, including Sweden, Japan, and Australia.
In addition to his pioneering work in composting technology, Nelson has served as a consultant to numerous renewable energy ventures, including anaerobic digestion projects for food and agricultural waste in Maryland and Delaware. His background also includes senior roles in marketing and operations for integrated waste management and compost sales organizations, as well as leadership positions in construction and wastewater infrastructure.
A founding member of the U.S. Composting Council and an active voice in legislative and environmental forums, Nelson has been recognized for advancing sustainable waste management practices. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dickinson College and continues to advocate for innovation in recycling, composting, and renewable energy development.
