Earthcare designed and manufactured a 4-module gasifier system that was installed and commissioned by our international partner Mavitec Environmental in September 2021 for a large, vertically-integrated food producer. The goals of this facility were to provide a solution for manure management and to increase soil fertility. The facility consists of two clusters, which consist of two gasifiers and a single drum dryer which is producing between 40 and 50 tons of biochar (Ecochar™) per day with the primary feedstock being chicken litter with straw bedding. The facility is staffed to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is processing more than 400 tons of feedstock daily. Preliminary planning is underway for an expansion of the existing facility to apply Earthcare’s gasification technology to the customer’s dairy operations which would include multiple gasifiers.
